CUSP featured in EU publications on environment & health

European Union releases a set of documents informing the public about EU-supported research in the field of environment & health

Within the last 20 years, the European Union has funneled extensive amounts of funding into research and innovation in the field of environment and health. The aim of this massive investment is to consolidate the evidence needed to support a policy framework that would protect European citizens from environmental degradation.

Within the European Green Deal, a toxic-free environment, protecting citizens’ health, and reducing both climate and environmental pressures are identified as priorities. To tackle those challenges effectively, scientific knowledge, research data, and innovative solutions are key.

In a recently published factsheet and project catalogue, readers can learn more about the hundreds of scientific initiatives supported by the European Union with the aim to provide evidence in the field of environment & health.

The CUSP cluster is one of the initiatives featured in these materials. With the aim to better understand the impact of micro- and nanoplastics on human health, CUSP hopes to contribute with evidence to help decision-makers, risk assessors, and regulators safeguard our air, water and food supply.
